It is native to Mexico and Central America and then travelled to Spain in the 16th century before eventually becoming popular across Europe.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-weight: 400;\" data-mce-style=\"font-weight: 400;\"\u003eThere are a number of Comos species out there.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-weight: 400;\" data-mce-style=\"font-weight: 400;\"\u003eYou probably know Cosmos as the pink and violet and white flowers of the \u003c\/span\u003e\u003ci\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-weight: 400;\" data-mce-style=\"font-weight: 400;\"\u003eCosmos bipinnatus\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/i\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-weight: 400;\" data-mce-style=\"font-weight: 400;\"\u003e species. They come in pinks and whites and violets. They are tall plants that are anything but orderly by the end of the growing season.\u0026nbsp;\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003ci\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-weight: 400;\" data-mce-style=\"font-weight: 400;\"\u003eCosmos bipinnatus \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/i\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-weight: 400;\" data-mce-style=\"font-weight: 400;\"\u003ehas frustrated me for years. As you can see from the picture, it\u003c\/span\u003e \u003cspan style=\"font-weight: 400;\" data-mce-style=\"font-weight: 400;\"\u003eis a cosmos of another colour.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-weight: 400;\" data-mce-style=\"font-weight: 400;\"\u003eI was stuck by those orange and yellow flowers tinted with a touch of red.\u0026nbsp;\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-weight: 400;\" data-mce-style=\"font-weight: 400;\"\u003eAnd even more exciting - there was some seed on the flowers the crew had not cut for bouquets. The following year we sowed them in our garden.
