The use of green manures or cover crops is a keystone of successful organic farming. Learn about various species and combine them in mixes to meet your goals for weed suppression, fertility and organic matter improvement as well as to provide habitat for beneficial insects, resilience for your farm agro-ecosystems and a range of other benefits.
Due in part to the pandemic and additional challenges it has created for us on the farm we have had to reduce our green manure seed offering for 2021. We hope to return to previous levels in 2022 and will still strive to maintain a supply of certain hard to find cover crops but large formats of oats, peas, buckwheat and similar crops are not expected this year.
