Sugaree produces peas that can be eaten whole - pod and all. They're crunchy, sweet, juicy and productive. Quite a lot to say about a simple pea, isn't it? But that's because Sugaree isn't just any pea.

Sugaree sugar snap peas were developed by Dr Alan Kapuler of Peace Seeds in Oregon as an alternative to the Sugar Snap variety.

If you're curious, get out your old vinyl records: Sugaree peas were named after The Grateful Dead called Sugaree. The song is kind of long and the peas quite delicious. I bet you'll have eaten all your peas before the song is over!
