Productive and disease-resistant snow pea. Tender and crisp pods are 10 cm long. Perfect for short, cold seasons.
Who doesn't love sweet snow peas?
I don't know about you, but I have a hard time getting snow peas in the freezer so I can enjoy them all winter long. In fact, I can’t even get them through the back door because we eat so many of them in the garden.
And we don’t even leave any crumbs! After all, you can eat the whole tender crunchy pod in addition to the sweet peas inside.
Oregon Sugar Pod II peas are named after the region where they were developed. In the 1980s that Dr. James Baggett of the University of Oregon developed this snow pea, selecting it for its dwarf habit and resistance to mildew, wilt and mosaic virus.
These peas produce in clusters of two pods instead of singles like most peas. This ensures you get a great yield and might give you a chance to even freeze a few.
One other way to stock up is to sow them twice during the season. Once in spring and again in July for an autumn harvest. Their disease resistance helps them survive the late planting, and they produce very well in short-season regions.
Dear friends, snow peas will be a big hit in your gardens and homes! Whether you are in a kind of cold area or a very cold area with a little bit of snow or a lot!
